Crossing the USA Border from Canada

Our experience crossing the border was easy peasy. We did our research in advance, as well as organized ourselves and our documents so that everything was easily accessible in the truck.
Documents
Passports and our regular IDs
Insurance documents for all of our vehicles
Banned items
The US border has quite a list of banned items, so it's good to review it before crossing to avoid delays. Here is a link to US Customs and Border Protection: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/know-before-you-visit
It would also be good to note that each state has different laws, so if you plan to travel from state to state, it would be prudent to check them. For example, marijuana can be purchased and is legal in some states but not in others. Additionally, traffic laws can vary from state to state.
We were asked where we were going, how long we would be in the US, if we had any fruits, veggies, or meat, ( We opted to travel with nothing in our fridge except the allowed condiments ) and they asked to look at our passports. That's it, we were through in mere minutes.
The border we crossed at was less busy than going through the Peace Arch, which had an estimated 70-minute wait time. We passed through the border located at Lynden/Aldergrove. There is a line specific to RVs and trucks, which was shorter than the car lines, so we rolled up and had zero wait times.
Pets
We ourselves do not have pets, but many of you traveling might. It would be good to review the rules around pets before traveling from Canada to the US. Here is a link for more information: https://www.cbp.gov/border-security/protecting-agriculture/bringing-pets-and-wildlife-united-states
