We rolled into Palm Desert nearly a week ago and were welcomed by sunshine and palm trees, and we are loving it! We've fallen a little behind in our posts of things we've done, as there has been so much to see and do in and around Palm Springs. This past week, we spent an afternoon hiking amongst the palms in Indian Canyon, lands of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. We thank you for sharing your beautiful lands with us.

There were numerous hikes that all varied in distance and difficulty. We did two short, easy trails - Palm Canyon and Andreas Canyon.
Andreas Canyon is a 1-mile trail loop that runs alongside a beautiful stream dotted with palm trees, and the halfway point climbs up out of the canyon and runs along the top side overlooking the treetops and surrounding desert. There were many birds flitting about in the palm canopies, and the sound of the stream made for a relaxing hike.
Palms Canyon is a 15-mile trail that leads along underneath a canopy of palm trees. The shade from the palms provides relief from the sun blazing on you. We only did 3 km of this trail in and back. It was much different hiking below all the giant palms than what we're used to back home. We quite enjoyed it.
Happy Trails,
Bill & Cat
