We've left Arizona and made our way into Utah, adding another sticker to our travel map. Given we were so close to Nevada, it called for a side trip to Vegas and a luxurious stay at The Venetian.

What a stunning Hotel/Resort. Luxury and meticulous detail are the essence of the remarkable art and architecture that compose The Venetian Resort. Walking beneath the Italian-inspired archways and the frescoes decorating the resort's ceilings, you feel as though you're in the very heart of Venice, Italy.

Our room was beautiful and had a great view of the Sphere, which was entertaining and like our own little digital show each time we looked out the window.

We enjoyed two days in Vegas, strolling the Vegas Strip, taking in all the lights and sights. We went up in the High Roller, and the views were spectacular. A money-saving tip: buy your ticket through Vegas.com; they are cheaper than purchasing on the spot.

We caught the fountain show in front of the Bellagio Hotel, it runs as follows and it's free.

Monday–Friday

  • Every 30 minutes from 3–6:30 PM

  • Every 15 minutes from 7 PM–midnight

Saturday, Sunday, and holidays

  • Every 30 minutes from noon–6:30 PM

There are so many places to eat or grab a cocktail. Gambling, shows, shops, tours...there is something for everyone in Vegas!
